Local Government Web Network Conference 2008: We believe in community
21 to 22 August 2008, Sydney NSW
Reem and I have been working hard planning the conference and getting registrations up. On the
conference page you'll now find more details including a
map of the conference location and
accommodation in Sydney.
We're really excited to be able to deliver a list of great speakers from around Australia talking on some very interesting and relevant topics. The conference will have some split stream sessions to give you more choice, which are roughly divided into the following areas:
- Technical
- Strategy/Management
- Low-tech introductory topics
This will allow you to pick sessions that are best suited to you. For a better idea of the types of topics that will be covered see the
program information.
As well as the sessions we will also have some exciting key note speakers, and a panel discussion on web standards that will give all of you a chance to ask questions from the real experts in the field.
If that's not enough to get you excited, here's some of the speakers we've confirmed:
- John Allsop (Accessibility, Semantic Web, Microformats)
- Matthew Hodgson (Intranets, social computing tools, frameworks, methodologies)
- Joanna Lewis (Information Architecture)
- Tim Lucas (How you can make apps quickly and effectively using Ruby on Rails)
- Joanna Lewis, and Reem Abdelaty (Usability Survey and re-design of Local-e)
We'll update the conference page with more details on speakers as we confirm them and will include session descriptions and bio's.
If we haven't given you enough information and you want to: ask us a question, give us feedback, express your uncontainable excitement, or have a moan if we haven't satisfied your needs - you can contact us in the following ways:
So what are you waiting for? Register now!
